Incentive Stock Options (ISOs) are a form of equity compensation, offering employees a share in the potential appreciation of a company’s value, with preferential tax treatment. Many of our clients have been (or will be) granted ISOs by their employer during their career. Can we work together virtually?

Absolutely. We are located in Ohio, but many of our clients live elsewhere such as South Carolina, Florida, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Just because you relocate for a job or personal reasons, we’d like to remain connected.

In fact, once the relationship is established, the majority of our interaction may be done over the phone, email, Your Financial Planning Portal and through videoconferences.

Do I need a minimum amount of assets to work with you?

It depends. For clients who choose the Ongoing Planning and Investment Package, we look for investable assets of at least $250,000. For clients who are unable to invest that amount, the Planning Package may be a better fit.

What is a fee-only advisor?

Fee-only advisors are financial planners that are Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) with a fiduciary responsibility to act in their clients' best interest. They do not accept any fees or compensation based on product sales, which leads to fewer conflicts of interest, and generally, they provide less biased advice. Gateway Financial, LLC is proud to be a fee-only advisor.

What is the fiduciary standard of care?

There are two standards that financial planners and advisers are held to, the fiduciary standard and the suitability standard. The fiduciary standard expects financial planners with putting their clients' best interest first. For instance, faced with two identical products but with different fees, the fiduciary standard would compel a financial advisor to recommend the one with the least cost to the client. We have signed a Fiduciary Oath for our clients.

Why is the company called Gateway Financial?

Life is full of challenges and we all need to meet them step by step; walk, crawl, and run, I call these “Gateways” to the next action. In the same way, we wanted to create a process-driven and workflow management based financial planning firm to ensure consistency and quality of advice.
